A football twist on the classic 2048 — slide and merge player tiles across the grid to build up the pitch and chase a high score. A polished, smooth-animating puzzle game built in Flutter and live on Google Play.

The 2048 mechanic is deceptively simple to play and genuinely hard to make feel great — every merge has to move smoothly and land instantly.
The brief was a football-themed take on the classic 2048 sliding puzzle: combine matching player tiles to advance up the ranks and rack up a score, wrapped in a clean, sporty look that fans of both puzzles and football would enjoy.
The real work is in the feel. A tile game lives or dies on responsive input, fluid merge animations, and reliable scoring and game-over logic — all running at a steady frame rate on a wide range of Android devices.
Built the core 2048 board in Flutter — swipe detection in four directions, tile spawning, and the merge rules that combine matching football tiles — with score tracking and best-score persistence baked in from the start.
Tuned the slide-and-merge animations so every move reads instantly and smoothly, added the football theming and tile artwork, and handled the edge cases — full boards, valid-move checks, and clean game-over detection.
Wrapped it in a polished sporty UI, tested across screen sizes for a consistent 60fps feel, and shipped to Google Play — store listing, build signing, and release included.
